Today´s newsletters features another step in the journey though Latin America and its fascinating modern architecture. This time we are showing a selection from the capital of Brazilian Minas Gerais state, Belo Horizonte. This city, and particularly Pampulha, are key to understand modernism in Brazil.

The opening image shows Oscar Niemeyer´s BEMGE building, seen from Sete de Setembro square, nerve center of the city. The building´s facade features some of Niemeyer´s favourite expressive elements: the curving concrete brise-soleil.
