Today´s newsletter features the new Museu do Amanhã (Museum of tomorrow) is the first project by spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in Brazil. It is located on the Mauá Pier, in front of MAR museum and the new Mauá Square, and it is part of the urban project Porto Maravilha, which seeks to reactivate Rio de Janeiro´s port area.

The museum building is devoted to applied science, divided in 5 areas ( Cosmos, Earth, Anthropocene, Tomorrow and Now) and curated by Luiz Alberto Oliveira. The LEED building includes the use of water from the Guanabara Bay to controle its temperature and moving passive protections that controle the light of the spaces and sun incidence.
